According to an authoritative study, one in six Windows PCs worldwide are hooked up to the Internet without any basic security software.
That is such a shame and hard to believe given the cost-benefit ratio. There is plenty of free software available to cover basic security (and privacy) to protect your computer from what could be catastrophic breaches. If there is any “good news” here for the rest of us, it’s that the hackers and identity thieves will concentrate on breaching these computers rather than our protected ones.
